Brief:
- analysis and grading of a department’s existing equipment prior to new concept being introduced to provide baseline to measure improvement
- provide sustainability/waste elimination guidance during new concept design for the department
- support the current fixtures demise process to minimise waste
Challenges:
- no environmental policy for fixtures - avoid obsolete equipment being sent to landfill
- levels of understanding and willingness of external designers to heed advice
Output:
- collation of relevant data and segmentation of equipment into main types
- analysis of materials and weights by overall department, fixture segment/type, individual fixture and component/sub-component
- Ecosmart grading of fixtures and overall department
- identification of elements for potential re-use
- materials breakdown & quantities, and recycling/disposal guide for obsolete fixtures
